Description
Although written for the violin and guitar, this arrangement for guitar duet was inspired by listening to the recording of Ida Presti & Alexander Lagoya on their CD “Romantic Guitar”.
Paganini is perhaps best known for his virtuosity on the violin, but he is said to have abandoned the violin altogether for some three years to concentrate on learning the guitar.
Sonata Concertata is in A major and has three movements, the first of which is developed completely in
accordance with the rules of early 19th century Sonata. Paganini's musical language, rich in spontaneity and elegance, is intoned in a distinct and expressive cantabile form.
