Description
Christian Gottlieb Scheidler (1752-1815) was a German musician and composer. He worked as a cellist and bassoonist in various royal courts, but he was known mainly by his playing of the lute and guitar. He is considered one of the last virtuoso on the lute and as one of the first major representative of the guitar.
His modulations are strong, his melodic invention original and although not a virtuoso work, this Sonata will appeal to both advanced guitarists and to players of more modest ability
